Gainesville - Florida, concentration in Nematology with a minor in Plant Pathology. Thesis:
Managing root-knot nematodes in greenhouse and microplot experiments with organic
amendments.
- Master of Science: Degree in Fitossanidade (1982-1984) - Federal University of Rio Grande
do Sul, Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul - Brasil. Her research dealt with diseases of yellow
passion fruit (Passiflora edulis var. flavicarpa). Thesis: Mol‚stias do maracuj amarelo

Minas Gerais - Brasil.
- Elementary, Middle, and High School: Vit¢ria - Esp¡rito Santo - Brasil.
RESEARCH INTEREST :
Using organic amendments to
manage plant-parasitic nematodes and plant diseases.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- Assistant in Topography and Technical Design for Rural Construction and Home
Environment at University of Vi‡osa, Minas Gerais - Brasil (1977 - 1979).
- Plant disease diagnosis at EMCAPA (a state agricultural research agency), Vit¢ria, Esp¡rito
Santo (1979 - 1980).

- She taught in an elementary school in Vit¢ria, Esp¡rito Santo (1981).
- 1985 - present: Researcher in Plant Pathology of EMBRAPA, Centro de Pesquisa
Agroflorestal do Acre, Rio Branco, Acre - Brasil. Most of her work there was related to
identification of plant diseases. She was responsible for collecting and maintaining a
germplasm collection of cassava for evaluation and characterization, and management of web-blight disease by using organic amendments in black beans. She intends to continue her
professional career with use of organic amendment to manage plant-parasitic nematodes and
plant diseases.
